Presentation Day 1

Because Mr. Schick was back in class today, we presented our projects. I think that we did well, we had the music to go with the story board which was very funny. A few more groups need to go tomorrow so that’s what we will do then. After we finish all of the projects we will probably move onto a new topic. I think that Mr. Schick said something in the beginning of the year that we will go in topic order of how they were traveled when they made history. If that is the case than our next topic will be Asia I think. Tomorrow all we have is the rest of the videos. So until then.

Final Touches

Western Civilization today was just like any other substitute day. Mr. Schick was sick so we had a sub. For the second mod our sub was Mrs. Deroba and our third mod sub was Mr. Bolden. All we did was make the finishing touches on our projects. Today Leah looked up good music for Sparta and Athens and found a song about Sparta and Athens that Mr. Schick would probably really like. Other than that we didn’t do much more in class. To make our poster look better we got cardboard from the library. Tomorrow we have to present the projects, our group will probably play our music of choice during our presentation to keep things moving along and make our presentation more entertaining. I’m nervous to present tomorrow but I just want to get it over with. A lot of people in our class did an actual commercial while my group did a storyboard. No that doesn’t mean my group was lazy it just means that we have a social life. So until tomorrow.

Boring Movie

In western civ today we had a sub because Mr. Schick is a chaperone on the Senior Retreat. All we did in class was watch the rest of the video. Our commercial is due on Monday and we will also present them at that time. My group is Grant, Leah and I and we picked Athens to present. So far we have the basic of what we need to do, today and over the weekend we will finish the story board. We all decided not to do a video because it would be very hard to get everyone together. I don’t think that it’s fair to not give us class time to work on the project because you said that you would but never did. And honestly, the video we watched was very boring and hard to keep up with. We had western civ second mod and while we were watching the video I thought I was going to fall asleep. See you Monday.

Extension!

Extension due date on the commercial project! Because Mr. Schick is going on the senior retreat trip on Friday, our commercial project will be due on Monday! Today we continued with the video, pausing when the important information comes up. Surprisingly we got a little bit past the 20 minute mark. The plan for Friday is to continue watching the video and taking notes. It will be difficult and different because we have never seen the video before so we, as a class, don’t know what to look for, while Mr. Schick does. We don’t have class tomorrow, our commercial project is due Monday, and I will talk more on Friday!

Athens or Sparta Commercial

Today in class we briefly started to watch a video. But for the very first part of class Mr. Schick gave everyone a heart attack with a fake pop quiz. He took an old quiz paper that he used to give, passed it out, and nobody knew any of the answers. After he explained to us that we aren't taking a quiz, yet, we started to "watch" a video. The video was 50 minutes long, and there were three parts in all. We also would pause the video once an answer, something important, or a question came up. Because today we were two hours late, and we already had a short class, we only got 7 minutes into the video. Our main focus is on the commercial due Friday. I have explain before that I’m stuck, and I still am. Hopefully I can think of something good before Friday. So, until tomorrow.

Cyber Day

For our cyber day assignment, we have to continue to work on our commercial. I am completely stuck and right now have no idea what to do. My group is Grant, Leah and myself. The project is due Friday, and as I've said before I think, the story board is mandatory but do make an actual video is extra credit. Hopefully we won't have school, so I hope I don't see you tomorrow!

TV Production / Western Civ

On Friday it was like we had TV Production class combined with Western Civ. We looked at two videos for Baltimore and Los Angeles. You could defiantly tell which video was not only made recently, but was produced better, the Los Angeles one. But as always there is a method to Mr. Schick’s madness. So instead of having a relaxed Friday, we instead have a project due. We have to create a commercial promoting either Athens or Sparta. We can work in groups and you don’t have to actually create a commercial, but that would give you a terrific grade. The most we have to do is create a storyboard of what we would produce. I’m excited and confused for the project, my main question will be at the bottom for Mr. Schick to answer later. But I am excited because I do have some interest in doing something like this when I’m older. And on Monday if we have a cyber-day we will continue to work on this. But my one question is: what time period does the commercial take place in? Like do we use the time period that actual Athens or Sparta took place in, or now? See you hopefully Tuesday!
